As technology advanced, I moved to MILK books (exceptional quality) which encouraged me to write a few more lines about my travelling adventures. I continue to do these today to capture my travels. My grandparents always encouraged me to explore the world and Nan and I exchanged travel stories often…

However some questions my Nan stalled on or said, “Save that for another day.” So I started to compile these questions and eventually had enough to put into a book. The sewn book cost me $50 to print 2 copies without a cover. Nan fully filled it out, proudly. My favourite part was that she signed the back of it (I then added an autograph part into future versions) and wanted to “Talk about this book more.”

I showed Nan’s book to close friends and they asked, “Can you print me one?” So it was time to investigate minimum quantities I could print. I charged my friends $18 for the soft cover (the price of the soft covers still hasn’t changed) and eventually sold all 50 copies. I joined Facebook groups querying about potentially publishing it and had a major breakthrough - I sold 80 in a week. At this point I didn’t have any e-commerce so people were asking, “Where’s the button?” I had no button, everything was manual…
